International Women’s Group Visit The Tallest Building in Kuwait Al Hamra Tower
30 October 2018: On the morning of October 29, 2018, Al Hamra Tower greeted a few of the most prominent women in Kuwait’s society. Members of the International Women’s Group which consists of Ambassador’s wives and VIP women, toured the tallest building in Kuwait as part of their yearly excursions.
Celebrating their 30th Anniversary, the IWG have a long and interesting list of places to visit and explore where they can enrich the members, especially the Ambassador’s wives, with Kuwaiti history and heritage. Al Hamra Tower, one of their first tours, is a 413m skyscraper that holds the title of the tallest building in Kuwait as well as the 23rd in the world.
The ladies were greeted by the Marketing & PR Senior Officer, Sara Al Thuwaini, and she thoroughly explained the magnificent architecture while on tour. The offices have the biggest space yet in Kuwait with technologically advanced services offered. The height of each floor had been carefully studied and selected to give this 77-floor skyscraper the height of 100-floor building. The artistic attraction lies in the way the floors were designed and put together. The first floor starts at 35 meters and each floor has a different perspective with the twist of the tower as it goes up. This of course, also gives each floor its unique view of sea and land in addition to experiencing the sunrise and sunset from various angles.
The Al Hamra management expressed their appreciation with certificates handed to the IWG members that were present and, in return, Mrs. Clethe Gubler, President of IWG, presented the management with an emblem as a token of appreciation for all their efforts in making this excursion a successful one.
It was a great and informative tour that ended with an invitation to a traditional brunch at Café Meem and left the members of International Women’s Group with information and memories for them to take home.
