To celebrate the spirit of the Season and the coming New Year, the International Women’s Group- Kuwait, held its annual Seasonal Dinner for members and guests on Sunday 05 December 2021.
The ladies of the IWG Board were present to greet members as they entered the seasonally decorated Al Jawahara Balloorm at the Crowne Plaza where Santa was waiting to give out gifts and to take pictures with attendees.
Mrs. Laila Boulos, public relations coordinator, introduced Mrs. Cristiana Baldocci, wife of the Ambassador of Italy to the State of Kuwait, and President of IWG 2021-2022.
Mrs. Baldocci welcomed members and guests, including the ambassadors of Kenya, Argentina, Tanzania, Canada and the United States, and wished everyone the very best for the Season and the New Year. As always, she also expressed her gratitude to Her Excellency Sheikha Hanouf Badr Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah, Honorary President of IWG, for her continued support of the group.
To commence the festivities, a beautiful video of Christmas in Bethlehem, provided by Mrs. Rima Khalidi, the wife of the Ambassador of Palestine, was shown; the guests were then treated to a musical performance by the Scouts from the Orthodox Church in Kuwait followed by Santa leading Christmas games and lucky draws. A raffle was conducted with many wonderful items which also included special prizes kindly offered by the embassy of Palestine and the embassy of Armenia. Mrs. Shireen Hattar, an IWG member, then delighted her fellow members with a medley of seasonal songs.
A magnificent dinner prepared by the chefs of the Crowne Plaza was followed by a raffle and a stunning Lebanese Dabke performance.
In closing Mrs. Balducci thanked the IWG Board for their fabulous work in organizing the event , many generous sponsors, all the talented performers who provided entertainment for the evening and, of course, the staff of the Crowne Plaza for their impeccable attention to every detail.
