International Women Group (IWG) visited the Dar Al-Athar Al-Islammiyah Museum
On January 22th 2020, the Members of IWG visited the Dar Al-Athar Al-Islammiyah Museum, located at the Amricani Cultural Centre on the Gulf Road in the capital Kuwait City.
The group visited the photo and film exhibition Alan Villiers & Sons of Sinbad: An Australian in 1930’s Kuwait and was welcomed and shown around by his Excellency the Australian Ambassador of Kuwait, Jonathan Gilbert.
The exhibition is organized by the Australian Embassy in Kuwait in collaboration with Dar Al-Athar Al-Islammiyah, celebrating the famous Kuwaiti voyage by Australian adventurer, Alan Villiers, that took place in 1938. The exhibition commemorates Villiers’ passion for maritime adventure and Kuwaiti traditions.
The Exhibition is a great opportunity to honour an important story for both Kuwait and Australia.
