International Women’s Group Hosted Australian Culture
The International Women’s Group celebrated the start of 2020 in style with an Australia Day event at the Crown Plaza. Sunday January 19, in the presence of female ambassadors and wives of ambassadors accredited to the State of Kuwait, IWG members, and other prominent women within the Kuwait society and international community.
The IWG bring its usual sophisticated event planning to Kuwait with Australian Ambassador Jonathan Gilbert attending the event to present his top ten places to visit in Australia. The event also paid homage to the people of Australia as they face the worst fires the country has ever seen. Ambassador Gilbert made a point of thanking Kuwait for the love and support at this time of great tragedy and pressed that Australia will fight back and will continue to be the most extraordinary place to visit.
The presentation was accompanied by a quiz and a display of all things Australian including a sumptuous buffet including Australian classics such as Lamingtons, Australian lamb and prawns.
The IWG Board and members bid farewell to Mrs. Josephine Cole (Wife of the Ambassador of Malta, on the occasion of their departure and the end of their duties in the State of Kuwait. IWG President Anita de Vogel, presided over the event and highlighted with great thanks, the many years of help and support of outgoing as a Vice President of IWG.
IWG members and guests ended the lovely morning with great raffle prizes and an authentic delicious Australian cuisine.
